- Side effects of Iverhart Max are rare, but may include lethargy, limpness, salivation, shaking, diarrhea, decreased appetite, licking lips, and belching. Do not give Iverhart Max to your pet if already giving a different heartworm medication.
Give Iverhart Max exactly as directed by the veterinarian. If you do not understand the directions ask the pharmacist or veterinarian to explain them to you. The usual dose of Iverhart Max in toy dogs 6 to 12 pounds is 34mcg/28.5mg/28.5mg (Magenta), for small dogs 12.1 to 25 pounds is 68mcg/57mg/57mg (Blue), for medium dogs 25.1 to 50 pounds is 136mcg/114mg/114mg (Green) and for large dogs 50.1 to 100 pounds is 272mcg/228mg/228mg (Brown). For dogs over 100 pounds the appropriate combination of strengths is used. Remove only one tablet at a time from the foil backed blister card. Iverhart Max can be given as a treat by hand or mixed with a small amount of food. Store the remainder in the original box they came in to protect from light. Store Iverhart Max at room temperature. Keep this medication out of the reach of children and pets.
